The extremely successful SILAG Media division deals with the business operations in trading and production of books, sound recordings and toys and now sells more than 20 million books and more than 10 million sound recordings annually.
SILAG Media is thus one of the largest distributors of these media. Since these products are not primarily sold in classical specialist dealerships but are marketed with a demonstrably unbeatable value for money, even low-income sectors of the population are given access to education at affordable prices. The concept “We make knowledge affordable” has been successfully implemented.
Absolute blockbuster successes in the company are the stories of “Hexe Lilli”, familiar to all and loved by children and parents alike (CDs of the original ZDF/ARD children’s channel TV series with a total of 26 titles) and “Albert E. – ICH WEISS WAS”. Albert E. explains the world to children in 24 different titles. A further twelve titles are planned for 2011 and should be available from the middle of the year (start of school).
