SILAG develops an energy-saving cooking pot
APRIL 2010
After 12 years in the development, SILAG Handel AG is close to the implementation of a new cooking-pot technology, the “patented Energy-saving Cooking Pot”.
Time, energy and money are saved with the removable locking unit, which fits the various heights of a Silag Hybrid Pot line. A household of four people in Germany will save up to 3.5 kWh daily by using this innovative technology. As there are about 40 million households in Germany, 140 million kWh could be saved.
In the hermetically sealed energy-saving cooking pot, steam given off cannot escape. This raises the pressure. The temperature rises to about 120 °C. This means more energy is transferred to the food. Cooking time is reduced, vitamins are preserved and there is a clear savings in energy.
