Extension of the Gräfrather Hof Hotel GmbH
DECEMBER 2011
On 13th January 2012 the former Town Hall and Theatre of Solingen-Gräfrath, which at an investment of €1.5 million has lovingly and with great effort been restored to how it was 140 years ago, was officially inaugurated with a circle of selected guests. The Cloister Room, previously known as the Star Room, is directly adjacent to the upstream Gräfrather Klosterbräu brewery.
The Gräfrather Hof Hotel GmbH as the operator thus enjoys an attractive gastronomic supplement that is also accessible to the general public. Some examples of future events planned in the Cloister Room are an Easter and a Christmas bazaar.
The Cloister Room is accessed through the foyer into the 300 m² main room. The eye of the curious visitor is drawn to the permanent stage across the entire width of the room with a natural stone look, a painting (18 metres long) of the old borough of Gräfrath after an original by Friedrich August de Leuw (1817‒1888), and the wonderful wooden roof structure which is kept exposed up to the gable.
The latest events and lighting technology opens up lots of possibilities in the events sector and the select and stylish interior generates a warm cosiness that invites you to stop a while.
