Cooperative Society of Breweries Quality Mark for their in-house beers
NOVEMBER 2009
The “Alt Ohligs” and Gräfrather Klosterbräu breweries receive the Cooperative Society of Breweries Quality Mark for their in-house beers.
The beer brands of the “Alt Ohligs” and “Gräfrather Klosterbräu” breweries have been awarded the Quality Mark of the renowned Cooperative Society of Breweries GmbH & Co. KG [the “Brauring”] as light ales, also called “Kölsch” in Cologne due to their superior quality ad defined in the articles of association of the of the renowned Brauring GmbH & Co KG registered at the Federal patent Office. The “Brauring” encompasses 230 medium-sized private breweries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Only the privately-brewed premium beers of the “Brauring” member breweries are awarded the “Brauring” Quality Mark, after a thorough preliminary review and in accordance with mutually agreed guidelines. Independent institutes strictly monitor adherence to quality criteria at the same time.
This again confirms the high quality of the beers served at “Alt Ohligs” and the “Gräfrather Klosterbräu”. This beer is brewed in accordance with German Purity Law exclusively for the catering business of the “Gräfrather Hof GmbH” and is served with state-of- the-art beer-cooling technology in a specially designed glass.
It is produced without preservatives and thus is categorized as a “Frischbier”, or green beer.
Beer consumption in the two establishments jumped to over 1000 hl within one year due to the popularity of the beer! Because of the great demand, the beer was additionally sold in specially-produced 10 l containers. All customers can now purchase a cooled 10 l mini-barrel at an introductory price of only €27.50 (plus €30.00 deposit) in both breweries.
